Navigating the jobs market as a graduate is never an easy task. Fortunately, we have the privilege of hearing the insights from Margot Moore, who is a Senior Marketing Consultant at PwC Australia.
Here are her top tips for entry-level job seekers.
I think a good tip is to be open to taking opportunities that come around – even if they are not what you invisage doing for the length of your career. As a fresh graduate, it’s really difficult to understand the corporate world and more often than not, you will step into a role and soon find that it is not what you perceived it would be prior to first hand experience.
The skills you will accumulate over the first 2-3 years out of University will most likely be what will shape your future career path, rather than the theoretical knowledge you acquire during your studies at Uni.
So with that being said, it’s important for graduates to understand that they will probably not get their ‘dream job’ right out of University. But with the right attitude, starting from the bottom is not necessarily a bad thing what so ever!
